Ignored Into Submission Poem by Mary Champion

Ignored Into Submission

The word-spring has withered.
There is nothing more to say -
nothing I haven't said before -
a dozen times,
a dozen ways.
And no one ever listened.

The stream of inspiration is dehydrated.
I still own the rage,
the fear
the heartache,
but their voices are stilled.
No point trying to make a point
when no one ever listens.
