I'll continue lying through the gnawing guilt and affliction,
I'll stay strong until it all becomes fiction.
Only in my mind shall I fall into the deep abyss
Of misery that eats away at my soul as I reminisce
Of the days when I wasn't stuck in this internal deception.
Lies upon lies, I rise in position,
The desire to do great feels like an obligation.
Even though I want to resist,
I'll continue lying.
Cheating through this life was never my intention...
But it made everything so easy, it was the beginning of my rising reputation.
With God being the only eyewitness,
I cower in regret as each day passes, knowing I need to rid myself of this progressing illness.
Even so, to keep up this image of perfection,
I'll continue lying.
