Im In It Poem by Kelsey Korosko

Im In It

Shes gettin older by the minute
still drinkin, shes sinkin in it
long gone her mind is driftin
quicker to heaven, hells beginnin

Family worries, she gets weaker
by the day
fighting back all the tears
she pleads, take my pain away

Im tired of prayin
no use for it
it never worked
ive hit the floor with
my everyday complications
too many years ive survived on
me, myself and im so done

Ive been touched by alcohol

Doc says anxiety and depression
livin lifes most important lesson
forgive and forget
she tells her, dont live and regret it

Now shes gettin better by the minute
heart and mind both are in it
way to go, now shes livin
sweeter self, lovin children

She gets down on one knee to pray
says to God, maybe some other day

Im still prayin
theres use for it
it always worked
now im sure of it
my everyday rearrangements
too many years ive survived on
me, myself and im so done

Ive been touched by alcohol

She says
i may be gettin older by the minute
but i aint drinkin, finally thinkin
Im in it
