Imagery Poems -4

1. Candle in a Dark Room
A candle trembles in the dark,
Its flame a trembling song;
Shadows curl against the walls,
But cannot linger long.
One light can fold the empty night
Into a fragile peace;
It teaches that even smallest sparks
Command a quiet release.
2. Pilgrimage Paths
The path bends up the silent hill,
Stone guides the wandering feet;
Each step repeats the ones before,
Each breath a quiet beat.
Pilgrimage is more than ground,
It is the soul in motion;
The road itself becomes the prayer
And walking is devotion.
3. Bells and Silence
Bells hang still in morning air,
Waiting for the hand;
Silence gathers round the tower,
As if to understand.
When struck, they break the quietness,
And echo into time;
Sound teaches what the pause cannot—
The sacred and the prime.
4. Ashes and Smoke
Ash rises like memory,
Soft, grey, and slow;
Smoke curls in secret patterns,
Where only the faithful go.
What burns is not always lost,
The air becomes the proof;
Even endings leave their trace
In quiet, lingering truth.
5. Thresholds and Crossings
Feet pause before the doorway,
Half in shadow, half in sun;
Crossings hold a kind of breath
That no one can outrun.
Thresholds teach the art of pause,
Of letting go to move;
Each step across the waiting line
Becomes the self's own proof.
6. Fire and Purification
Flames lick wood and heart alike,
Consuming what we bear;
Fire clears the hidden corners
Where fear and shame repair.
Heat teaches the body patience,
The spirit learns to bend;
All that remains is brighter now,
Unbroken in its end.
7. Seeds and Rebirth
A seed lies buried in the dark,
Unknown to sun or rain;
Yet life pulses quietly inside,
Awaiting to reclaim.
From death comes green, from silence sound,
From stillness sudden bloom;
Rebirth is written in small things,
In earth, in root, in room.
8. Sky as Witness
The sky leans over hills and towns,
Its blue a patient eye;
Nothing hides beneath its gaze,
No sorrow or small lie.
Clouds drift like passing thoughts of men,
Stars pierce the night like proof;
The sky remembers every step,
And keeps a silent truth.
