Imprisoned Poem by Arvie Calimlim

Imprisoned

Rating: 5.0

Trying to break out of a cell
A cell that keeps me living
I am safe here inside
Yet outside is what I’m longing

I’m scared to break the walls
Scared of what might be
These walls that trap me in
Same ones that protect me

Outside those walls was mystery
And inside was just I
Didn’t know what would happen
If I try to say goodbye

Death might be waiting there
But I am waiting death here
I might as well meet it
Though overwhelmed with fear

I have everything I need
Inside this very cell
Yet everything I want
Nothing here I could tell

In this chamber I lived
And might as well die
But outside might not hurt
Might as well give it a try

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Our body is really a cell, but our heart is most miraculous and jeweled jail. 10.
