Imprisoned Spirit Poem by ERNEST CLARY

Imprisoned Spirit

I'm a spirit in this carcus of skin and bone
combined yet abreast called a man
divided I'll be whole alone
furthering an illusive ones plan

though I walk on these feet
and see through these eyes
bloody heart filled with deceit
slippery tongue utters lies

I cant escape till this body is dead
lo! and go my own way
then I'll make my bed
sometime, somewhere another day

its not me
doing mortal sin
I'm not a spirit free
a man I'm trapped within
