In A Close Distance Poem by Eric Martin

In A Close Distance

In a close distance
Observation lies obsessed
With dancing futuristic fantasies
Of how life could be
Walking peacefully
Down a bitter winter street
Wrapped in the warmth of loveliness
No drama served
Only soft kisses
And two-mile a hour finger trials
Along the back of your neck
The kind that would make ice cream scream
And all the M&M’s would blush with envy
Closing their eyes in imitation
And through observation
Revelation came
Hand delivered what tomorrow would look like
Like yesterday
And yesterday before
And rhythm repeated itself l
Like heartbeats and seasons
Without reason
You would wake up to I love you’s
This is the gift I posses
In a close distance
