In A Glass Poem by Mark Hopwood

In A Glass

Break the soul
Break the skin
They never let the light shine in
Feel no joy
Feel no sorrow
just Holding on until tomorrow.
Spin the bottle
Spin the room
Listen to the future loom
Smash the glass
Smash the state
Its all gone and its all to late.

Light a candle
Light a flame
Always darkness in lights name
Try to feel
Try to mend
But it never changes right to the end.
Hold on tight
Hold on hard
As you turn the final card
Hear the truth
Hear the lies
Spoken so easily over the cries.
