In A Nut-Shell... - Poem by Mehreen Tahir

Enjoy the sun rise,
For tomorrow it may not come out.
Enjoy the fragrance of the fresh flower,
For tomorrow it may not bloom.
Enjoy the birds chirping,
For tomorrow they may be silent.
Enjoy the greenery and the trees,
For tomorrow it may become barren.

Enjoy the sunshine and its warmth,
For tomorrow may be dark and gloomy.
Sing and dance in the rain,
For tomorrow there may start a drought.
Enjoy the rainbow when it comes out,
As it may be your last chance to see one.
Enjoy the moon and stars at night,
For they may not shine again.

Tell your loved ones how you truly feel,
For tomorrow you may not be together.
Say sorry to someone if you think its due,
For tomorrow you may be left with repentance.
Tell your friends how much you care,
For tomorrow they could be far away.
Say caring words and give hugs galore,
For tomorrow you may need them too.

Love every new day,
As it may be your last.
Live for the moment,
And don’t dwell on the past.
Create and imagine,
And let your dreams soar.
Cherish your life and thank God for it,
For tomorrow you may be no more!
