In Darkness You Dwell Poem by Elena Lempp

In Darkness You Dwell

You cower in fear
In fear of the light
Oh fallen angel
How far have you gone
Why is it that laughter
Is the happiness
That hurts you
Why is it that grins
Are the thing you despise
Your deepest desire
Is the peace of the dark
To fade away
Into the pits of death
Oh fallen angel
You crave the light
That tears you apart
But you are the darkness
Forever alone
You watch the angels
Singing and dancing
You watch their heaven
With tears in you eyes
You watch from a distance
From your sinful exile
Oh fallen angel
Your isolation is self-made
Your seclusion your fault
Cause you couldn’t deny
Deny who you are
