In God's Wings Poem by Misilla de la Llana

In God's Wings

Thou hast lived in despair
He must be freed from agony,
From the pith, he grasp for air,
And his body weakened.

He takes his last breath
As darkness fills the room,
This present day we face his death,
And we shall mourn him.

Thy song we shall sing
A somber tune of hymn,
As he is taken by God’s wings,
Beyond celestial heavens.

His love, deep within our hearts
Whilst he rest placidly,
No matter how far
His spirit remains with us.

Reminiscence of him forever
We must cherish always,
And we will not dissever,
But only embrace them.

Grandfather’s farewell
Thy soul shall rise upon great beyond,
As we heed to angels’ bells,
During the last hour of gloom.
