In Lieu Of A Kiss Poem by Michael Troy Buffo

In Lieu Of A Kiss

Rating: 4.5

Though we're parted
By thousands of miles
A sea, an ocean,
And airport turnstiles

You bring me such joy
Like no one before
And after each of your letters
I still long for more

Sure, we've had our problems
(Though it's hard to believe)
But it's mostly my fault
For wearing my heart on my sleeve

Here, I'm alone
And so unsatisfied
But you show me love
And make me feel good inside

Of one thing I'm certain
As long as I live
I can't thank you enough
For the hope that you give

I hope you don't mind
That I'm writing you this,
But it's the best I can do
In lieu of a kiss
