In Love Poem by Sariga Devasia

In Love

In love with the snowflakes of winter
and with the dappled dancing blossoms of spring.
In love with the warmth of summer
and with the fragrance of the moist clay that rain bring.

In love with happy smiles
and with the sparkle in eyes.
In love with the cosiness in embrace
and with the satin tied gifts.

But never knew that dead leaves loved me
bowed their head to death, for giving fresh air to me.
Never imagined even though they live for a day
the blossoms make it colourful for me.

To provide green shade around me
the trees bore the arrows of Phoebus.
Never knew the painful story of waiting is buried
in the essence of fragrance.

Took time to knew that behind the smiles
lies the dark secrets of pain.
Never knew what glitters as diamonds, in the eyes.
is the blues that rain.

Behind, every little embrace,
‘thank you' and ‘don't leave me' is there.
And the life- long promise of love,
is tied in satin, with utmost care.

I thought I was in love,
but I was wrong when I found.
A small sacrifice is there
in, everything beautiful around.
