In Love With A Girl - Poem by Ariel Miles

Everytime I speak to you
I get a butterfly feeling
& the other day over the computer
when we began reminiscing
I wanted to cry so badly
over those times that I miss
Like the corner after school
where for me
you used to wait
& I miss so dearly
how you called me every night
& it was always right on time
just when i needed to speak to someone
In school
I used to love to look up
because you'd be at the door
you'd smile & wink at me
OmG
I miss it
& I cry when reminiscing
because I love you that deep
& I didn't care who knew
I wrote you letters
and when someone asked
I wouldn't deny it
I was proud to be the female on your arm,
the one you walked down the hall with,
the one you dream about,
the one you think about,
I was the one that everyone knew as
your wifey
& we never even went out!
See
But after easter vacation
everything changed
&
the day i decided to make it an 'us'
I found out that you already had wifey
but
do you know what's messed up?
Everyone knows what it is
I'm well known as your wifey
we kept each other on point, we're both popular,
& *jiggy*
I poured my heart out to you
I would never deny that you are my world
& what's crazy is that
I'm not ashamed to be in love with a girl
