In Memories I Walk Poem by Michelle Kidwell

In Memories I Walk

In memories I walk

Gentle steps

That remind me of you

And the memories we built together

Nonna and Granddaughter

Memories of my own

And shared with my cousins.

For a long time

I feel as if after you died

We were brought together

Only to drift apart again

With words spoken in anger

I wonder what you must think

Of what happened

But now I feel like

I am walking two steps forward

And three steps back

But Nonna I know you knew my heart

And the Lord hears my prayers

And someday we will be that

Loving family

Once again.
