The road was rough
the journey was tough
we fought, we argued, we bickered
we laughed, we smiled, we snickered
we hated, we loathed, we cried
we held back, we avoided, we lied
what started as a friendship became something more
you went from a person to talk to, into someone I adore
nothing seemed to be going anywhere
but it didnt mean that I didn't care
I wanted to move on, I wanted something worthwhile
I had grown up, I was no longer such a child
and tragedy took you from my tender grasp
my heads spinning and time's moving so fast
trying to make sense of all the emotions in my head
all i know for certain is God blesses the dead
