In Memory Of Jr. Griffin Poem by Landan Chandler

In Memory Of Jr. Griffin

A lone rider sits in an open plain,
Watching his herd of cattle graze,
He sits mounted on his horse who struts with pride,
Reminising of the life he has made,
As he rounds up the horses at the end of the day,
He recalls times he spent with lovers and friends,
And wishes he could do it all again,
Tomorrow he'll begin the day again,
But before the day ends,
He'll go for one last ride,
With the sun on his shoulders and his heart full of pride,
He rides before the sunset toward plains of grassy tides,
Green trees and Blue skys,
He sits on top of a hill beneath the shade of an old oak,
He rolls a cig and licks the tabacco from his lips,
He sits in a beautifull field now surrounded,
Surrounded by majestic and powerfull mares,
Waiting for his friends and lovers to find him there.
