In My House Poem by Natalie Collins

In My House

My dad snoring in the chair
Clothes tumbling in the dryer
Air blowing from the heater
The phone ringing in the dining room
My cat licking itself in the chair
The toilet flushing in the bathroom
The dishwasher running in the kitchen
The floor cracking in the upstairs hall
The chair rocking in the family room
Silence at night as the whole house sleeps
