The Tree Poem by Natalie Collins

The Tree

The arms sway violently in the harsh wind
While the hands wave forcefully at me
As if telling me to get inside quickly
From the window, I watch the tree
With its long body standing strong in the wind
Good thing its feet are well grounded
Or it would surely collapse

The storm passes by quickly
And the tree’s hands beckon for me
To return to the outdoors with it
Now its arms sway peacefully in the breeze
The birds come out of their nests
Onto the long, outstretched arms
For the day is now so nice
