In My Mind - Poem by Kathryn Garner

everyday im breathing inside a lie
where i make believe
and wait around till i die
in reality i cant live and breath
i just remake yesterday
because then the lie is always there
and i can take the truth away
my story is there when you dont care

these things i live from all the yesterdays
these things i always wish for the tomorrow
i pray these things wont ever go away
cuz they dull all my sorrow
baby, i'll be the one to always recall
so that i can redo all of our actions
ill take the pain, stop the downfall
im always fixing all the attractions

these fabrications are sappy as shit
but they can temporarily heal
this dream, i just live inside of it
becasue i hate what real
i just sleep inside a fake yesterday
a fake tomorrow, a fake past
because here my problems go away
i only wish a dream could last

in my mind
i can set all these things right
in my mind
i can almost believe you care
im my mind
even when im lost inside my night
in this tormented mind
even if you dont care
in my mind
my minds lies are always there
