In Our Existence Poem by Francis Duggan

In Our Existence

In our existence we go through many a phase
We all have our good and our not so good days
The roadways of life can be hilly and rough
And life has it's good times and times that are tough
Life is not meant to be easy as said by George Bernard Shaw
And circumstance of birth can be like the luck of the draw
Some born into privilege and some born into poverty
Even in human birth there is inequality
Poor people are those people with the heedless voice
Those poor by circumstance are not poor by choice
Though winning is what everybody does choose
In life for one to win big others do have to lose
Equality is only where deceased people lay
And this does come after our last living night and day.
