In Praise Of Nobility (Seven) Poem by Rubaba Mmahajia Rahma Sabtiu

In Praise Of Nobility (Seven)

Ill-fated was that man Abu Lahab
In the veins of the Praised One his blood flowed
The birth of the noble one to him had brought joy
That lady was now free to go here and there
In joy he had watched this beauty glow
Al-Ameen he had been named
He was outstanding in character
For that his blood was proud
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
But why had he an enemy become?
When under his feet the truth was laid
Why that hostility at a man so elegant and graceful?
How could she in that join?
Was a wife not a check for the husband?
Did Ramlah bint Abu Sufyan not her father leave?
For in the path of her father she found thorns
So to the way of the noble one she had journeyed
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Lucky indeed were Hamza and Abbass radiyal Laahu anhum
Their love had been proven true
To the younger one whom their blood bore
So on stairs of ranks they were raised high
The nobility of the noblest of the nobles could not be denied
Had he not his beautiful lips kissed the subtle and little skin
His love flew even between his lips
Children were to him indeed adorable
The one with ten had been stunned
Why is this O rasuul of Allah?
Never has my lips been this gentle on my ten
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
The noble one at him had admonished
Show mercy you who seek His mercy
Give this love, receive this mercy
Such was the man, one like no other
How then could a woman her husband love most?
When that man lived this life
To him her full love, her husband, a portion
How then would a mother her daughter love most?
When that man walked this earth
To him her full love, to a daughter, a portion
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
To him his lovers passionately run
From him they yearned never to be away
Yes, so it was and so it is
Had the prince not for years searched the inner call
That call to the noblest of nobles
Did he not his kingdom leave?
Was he not sold then as a slave?
How happy he was in years to come
For the desire of his heart was then fulfilled
The inner call was now here and true
That was the man Salmaan al-Farisi radiyal Laahu anhum
The Persian who joined the ahlul bayt
The Praised One said so and so it was
Such were men who in his love swam
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
This is the nobility about which I sing
This is the nobility I live to praise
This is the nobility whose love drunken me
This is the nobility I wish to see
This is the nobility I pray to touch
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
