In Silence Poem by Gianfranco Aurilio

In Silence

I was in the forest
and there was silence
all around me.
Then
just for a moment
I stopped to listen
in silence to the silence
and I heard
a brook flowing
an acorn falling
a bird singing
the wind caressing the leaves
a squirrel squeaking
the grass stirring
the branches waving
twigs snapping.
Just for a moment
then
I started walking again

no longer in silence.
