In The Cemetery Poem by Justin Gildow

In The Cemetery

In the cemetery
We honor the ones that came before us
Relatives we knew
Relatives I wished I could've met in my
lifetime

Gifts and trinkets stay stationed where
they are by the tombstones
We talk about the times we remember
Of this person and that person
The memories we shared with them
The hopes, dreams, and wishes as well
We can hear a gentle ringing of the bells

We say a prayer
To the many we know in Heaven
And offer a minute or 2 of silence

Down here on Earth
I'm sure they know we're doing alright

Up in Heaven
We know they're taken care of
With unlimited hope and love

For all of us
It all runs together
Day and night
