In The Deepest Loneliness There Is No Home Poem by Shalom Freedman

In The Deepest Loneliness There Is No Home

In the deepest loneliness there is no home
We are strangers wherever we are-
All love has vanished into screaming
And all sadness speaks our powerlessness -
In the deepest loneliness
There is not a single human voice that hears us
A single human face we are recognized by -
All space is endless and empty
And we do not touch the ground-
In the deepest loneliness
No way out no way in no way anywhere-
We are just unable to know any light
Dark dark is the world and death inside all our meaninglessness.
