In The Depths Of Shadows Poem by Lilith Van'Nightinveil

In The Depths Of Shadows

Lost, adrift in a sea of endless gray,
Where echoes of silence quietly play,
I wander through the corridors of my mind,
Seeking solace, but nothing can I find.

The world a heavy cloak upon my soul,
Its weight too much, a crushing, silent toll,
Each step a struggle, each breath a fight,
Through the veil of day, into the womb of night.

Numbness spreads its tendrils deep and wide,
An empty chasm where my hopes reside,
Forced to wear a mask, a fragile guise,
Hiding the turmoil that behind it lies.

The shadows whisper secrets I can't hear,
Their cold embrace the only thing near,
In darkness, I find a twisted kin,
A silent scream reverberates within.

The world's demands, a ceaseless, cruel refrain,
Expecting normalcy in the face of pain,
I play the part, I wear the smile,
While inside, I crumble, mile by mile.

Crying in silence, where no one sees,
Tears that fall like autumn leaves,
Alone, I bear this silent storm,
In the shadow's depth, I am reborn.

Yet, in this darkness, I find a spark,
A tiny light within the stark,
A hope that one day I'll break free,
From the chains of my own misery.

But for now, the shadows are my friends,
In their cold embrace, my spirit mends,
Lost, yet yearning for the dawn,
To find the strength to carry on.
