In The Margin Poem by Paul Gomez

In The Margin

I see myself in the shining light.
Deeply saddened by the site.
I am not alone, but by myself.
In the corner with no one else.

Everyone is looking and I see nothing.
Missing out again.
On the outside looking in.
Left to live vicariously.

So alone I sit in the corner.
Where I feel safe.
Wiping a tear, faking a smile.
Pretending I am content with loneliness.
