In The Midst... Poem by LoveLifeLen Altamar

In The Midst...

In the land of many islands
where once a so called dictator was in command,
where poverty and corruption is rampant
and its unemployment is tremendously constant.
There lives the other daughter of eve
trying to live life with a purpose and believed.
A woman with simple whims
striving to achieve her many dreams.
Craving for life's exciting journeys,
hungry for knowledge and life's mysteries.
A woman who has been looking for her love,
but couldn't find him in the wild dark grove.
Traversing this chaotic, lowly life
unafraid; determined to survive.
Though her journey seems blurry
this does not stop her query
to where he maybe...
thousands of miles in the land of the free.
There he lives his life unselfishly
knows nothing but pure generosity.
People in the margin since early history
fighting for freedom and equality.
For him real happiness is to see
his people to be really free...
Crimes are being committed in the alleys,
women and children live in miseries,
blood of innocent lives have been wasted,
grudges among brothers have been created.
Not only in the land of bread and honey,
but throughout the world; in every country.
Leaders and capitalists of great nations
working together for the great domination.
Manipulating the economy of the small
pretending to be helpful to all.
The superficial agenda is obvious to see
for what they want is oil across the sea.
The endless mining of natural resources
that causes continuous unrest from the masses.
Their operating arms have various identities
controlling the media, politics and business industries,
promulgating chaos, and assassinating personalities
in order to achieve their utmost monstrosities.
Now, in the midst of this catastrophe
her undying love is not the key
for matters of the heart is not his priority,
but lasting friendship and sincerity.
For him to live his life peacefully
is to fight for the rights of the many
no matter how hard it may be
his true happiness is to help the needy,
the less fortunate in the community,
the orphans of war and poverty,
the discrimination of different ethnicity
are the ones his willing to fight fearlessly
for freedom, peace and equality.
