In The Moment Poem by Harlequin Rose

In The Moment

Making love to the same sex
is as close as a woman comes to instincts
so in the moments before
I stop and catch my breath
and marvel at the reasons I love her instead
maybe its the way she sits by the window
and watches the rain
the simplicity of it gives me chills
or maybe its the way
she casts mysterious stares in my direction
and sparks an arousal that must be satisfied
maybe its the way she falls apart
and how she cries her heart out to me
it breaks my heart the moment the tears touch my skin
could it be the way
she kisses my forehead in the morning
before I open my eyes
to breakfast in bed
it is the feeling of being blessed
I know its the way her eyes meet mine
over coffee
I look at her and I know there's a God
all of this becomes clear to me
in the moments before we touch
before we kiss
before we taste
before anything else
we are in love.
