In The Soul Of My Heart Poem by Robert Rorabeck

In The Soul Of My Heart

With everything about the
School
Dumb and mute
I got drunk underneath
The school bus
Where the tortois was
Amongst the shade
And didn't come out
Until
Beowulf was in charge-
Who muzzled all
The teachers,
But was mutually killed
By the dragon as well-
And on the green
It was finally safe
To buy icecream
and say The Pledge of Allegiance
To the flag
Without a favorite color
In the soul of my heart-
