Incompletion Poem by Madi McCarthy

Incompletion

Incompletion, confusion, I’m waiting,
For the day you decide to return,
This loveless journey were facing,
Hoping and praying you’ll learn.

You’ve lost your place, a stranger,
I remember who you once were,
There to protect me from danger,
Now a shadow or more of a blur.

Every day in my mind, I see you,
And I see the days of old,
When I was too young to realise,
All of your lies I was being told.

Now that I’m older, I look back,
You tried to buy my love,
With accessories and fancy things,
It worked, I was blinded by money.

I don’t know why you did this,
Things could have been so good,
You ruined it for yourself,
Now you stand misunderstood.

Incompletion, confusing, I’m waiting,
For the day you decide to return,
This loveless journey were facing,
Hoping and praying you’ll learn.
