Inconsolable. Poem by Graham Jones

Inconsolable.

Rating: 5.0

I am perceived a leopard
I cannot change my spots
Its true that I still love you
For my heart is tied in knots

I can't disprove, what is'nt true
Or stem the wagging tongues
Or tie you down, to prove to you
A ladder has no rungs.

My head is so full of anger
My heart is so full of dread
If only you would listen, to what I say
Not what is said

You are the heart that beats within me
The very fibre of my soul
What must I do to prove to you
You are my one and only jewel

If you believe what is'nt true
I will walk this earth alone
And spend my life in solitude
Beside an empty throne.

Tai Chi is right - it is easier to face the lonliness when you know that someone else is in that same space. Great, feeling poem. Linda

Ironically Graham, I find your poem comforting. Not quite so alone in my inconsolable loss. A good poem, it says a great deal. 10 from Tai
