Sigundhra Banga

India - Poem by Sigundhra Banga

my mother land
that I grown with her smell.
Since I took my first breath
till today-
does it smell the same?
No it doesn't.
Even though
She is losing her smell
as she aspire to be superpower
with industries.
I along is with her every moment
thus adopt it as my mother's smell.
If you put me
in any corner of the world
I can find her
I can find her easily
by her smell
as an infant finds his mother.
