My eyes meet the knife’s sharp point.
My senses dazzled by the cold touch of steel as it lands on my wrist.
Before I could collect my thoughts,
The move had been made;
The blood had been set free.
Wait! This is happening too fast!
This is not what I want!
This is not where I want to be!
I need some time,
To reason with my thoughts.
Life had given me an opportunity;
An opportunity I had availed not.
No! Someone help me!
Hear my cry.
Hear my screams.
Someone save me.
But there’s no one out there.
I realize but oh so late.
The red liquid is dripping.
I have sealed my fate.
With a loud thud,
I fall to the ground.
My lifeless existence left behind me.
I must not turn around.
But I wanted to stay,
In the sweet embrace of life.
I wanted to stay!
I must now let go of life’s hand.
Must pass on to the unknown land.
What awaits me at the other end,
I know not.
My joy has been soaked;
The victim of a draught.
I try to stop the blood from flowing,
But it races against my hands.
Time seeping through my fingers,
Like the particles of sand.
My soul trapped inside my body,
Urging to be let out!
Trying to break free from the bars that hold me back.
I have the will to demolish them,
But it is the strength that I lack.
I must give up now,
Though with a sigh.
Must breath my last;
Must bury my last cry.
I lie here, still.
Growing colder by the minute.
Getting closer to my end.
This sunset will be infinite.
