Infinity, On A High Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Infinity, On A High

Before forty winks,
Comes a score of one million blinks
And my body, weakened and used
By the day, the abusive day

Led to the bed that calls forth my name,
The delicate flaws seduce me,
Like the way I direct my desire,
Towards you, only for you.

Rest assured,
Away from the barren azure
That tomorrow, if it shall come,
I am still yours, until the final breath has faded

The morning dew,
Comes only to a few
Like souls on cemeteries waiting to be absolved
And what question does the dawn inquire?

It asks, “What is in me that clarifies the sallow air? ”
Maybe the hope, that one day, rekindled and kind
Shall I find, that we share the same bed,
The same dreams, identical stories, equal amity.

So before I sleep,
And once again restore my eyes
After I keep a keen eye on you,
Should I snipe within distances, without your knowledge.

Have I loved you from afar?
Have I yearned for you in my sleep?
And in the awakening of my dead, cumbersome body
Shall the feelings escalate once more!

So sing to me a song,
May it be a ballad, or a lullaby
As lull as the meek cloudy downpour
Prowl lightly love, I am fragile, I might shatter

So after the million blinks of the blinded eye,
I found that the vision in the dark
With dimly lit candles that flicker
There’s a silhouette hiding within the shadows

Your specter of course,
I long to see you, beside me that is
If you want me to, like sleeping cars in a freeway
We’ll speed past life, and on to infinity.

On a high, darling.
On a high.
On a high, my love.
On a high.
