Infliction Poem by Desiree Whitamore

Infliction

i ripped up the paper
tore your face in 2
tried burning our old memories
tried forgetting you.
but that paper found some tape
and your face came back together
and i remember everything
and you are getting better.
i stillh ear your tension
and the way you say my name
you're still the one i thought you were
taht can't ever change.
i know you want to try
but i don't know you care
and even though you love me
i know its still unfair.
and thats why i'm here.
because i know how you are
we could make this good again
the futures not that far
and i swear i'll stay
until you want me gone
because the pain that you're inflicting
can only make me strong.
