Inland Sea Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Inland Sea

Gusts of wild wind rampaging!
Freighter plows through the inland sea.
Loud birds aloft scavenging,
Deaf to the the crew's silent plea.

Near rocky shores threatening-
Crew works to bring her about!
Loud boiling surf menacing!
'Our fate is nigh! ' the crew all shout.

Mariners' bones whitening
In the tides that ebb off coasts.
Ghosts moan aloft, echoing
Cries drowned in wild windy gusts!
