Inside Me Poem by Charlotte Ballard

Inside Me

Inside Me,
Inside You,
Same? Or Different?
That even the
Doctors could tell?
Are bones the
Way to find out?
Or to find in?
Does a fluroscope
Teach a baby how
To walk? Or bring
In the paper when
It’s raining. Just because.

Inside Me,
Inside You.
Same? Or Different?
I like red,
You like blue.
I see colors of rainbows
And you like Izzy
And black, and more.
I eat potatoes and
You sing of garlic
Strung with tomato
Sauce.

Inside Me,
Inside you.
I put out my hand
And you put yours
In it, and
Locked together,
Who can tell, which
Is you, and which is
Mine. I say the same,
Even as you say different.
