Insomniatic Tendencies Poem by Melissa Joy Chesky

Insomniatic Tendencies

I don't want to close my
eyes to rest tonight
for the dread of forgetting him
is upon my mind.

And if I wake to not remember
him,
I have to fall back in love
with him,
and hit everything on the way
down,
and I'm the one possessing
the wounds.
