Inspirations in my heart—
their origin remains unknown:
a fleeting ghost of appearance,
arriving from nowhere,
yet leaving behind
a quiet revelation.
Inspirations in my heart—
they overwrite my mind
with silent illumination,
a knowing so complete
no illusion can remain.
Inspirations in my heart—
they choose the path I take.
They dissolve my tensions
and strike a sudden blow
against my ego—
against the illusion
of separate identity,
against the veils
of multiplicity.
Contemplations in my heart—
they clear away
the mist, the fog, the dust.
Then comes a sudden storm:
lightning flashes within me,
thunder rolls across my being,
and from the hidden heavens
come tidings
of rain and mercy.
Inspirations in my heart—
born of a mystic gleam,
they lead me toward
who I am called to be:
not another self,
not an imagined identity,
but a human being
returned to the original imprint
of my Fitrah.
