Internal Light Poem by Timothy Honeycutt

Internal Light

Your beauty is like a morning sunrise,
Beauty to my just opened eyes.
I see your beauty like that of a rose,
Watching it as its beauty continues to grow.
Your heart is as warm as a summer beach,
Your love and touch just out of my arms reach.
Your eyes as beautiful as a summer blue sky,
They sparkle like stars and such beauty one can not deny.
When I go to bed and lay for the night,
You are my dream for you are my internal light.
When I am old and close to death,
I will think of you as I draw my last breath.
