Internal Peace In Space Poem by Hudson Hoodsun

Internal Peace In Space

Rating: 5.0

When I feel that the world is more than it seems
When I think that there is something more to my life
When I feel that life can be more surprising than my weirdest dreams
When I think that life can cut harder than a knife

I lie down on the sweet, freshly-cut grass
I look up and see the stars
I feel like I am up there, as I look at the stars, that I could surpass
I think that I could be up there in space with stars like the Sun and planets such as Mars

I wish I could just float in space and be in awe over the stars, so near
I wish I could just happily lie down on the moon
I wish I could make all violence and hateful things in the world disappear
I wish I could just make Earth as peaceful as other planets, and I hope that can happen soon

I want to hear nothing but the satellites nearby
I want to feel nothing but the smooth surface of Europa, my favorite place
I want to see nothing but the black void of space, far away from the sky
I want to be nothing but apart from space

Stars are glimmers of light, of which I love thee with all my heart
Stars are specks of hope, which I want to believe in
Stars are pieces of beauty, which I think of as art
Stars are bits of wonder, which I marvel at, like how a sinner marvels at a sin

Space is such a special place
Space is a brilliant sight to view
Space is so elegant, peaceful, and filled with grace
Space is magnificent, through and through

It is all so lovely, so divine
It is all so fantastic, so gorgeous
It is all so exquisite, so fine
It is all so beautiful, so enormous

Unfortunately, I cannot stay here, lying on the ground, wondering about going to space
Unfortunately, I must get up from the ground and go back to life
Unfortunately, I must live my ordinary, plain life, and that seems like the case
Unfortunately, I must be normal once again and live without strife

So, I will always feel internal peace, thinking about what is up there
So, space, so surreal, so spirited, so sublime
So, I will always see up there is so wonderful that it takes away your air
So, I will always think that up there is so full of promise, yet I will have to wait to explore this wonder when it is my time
