Into Hell Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Into Hell

My body feeling weak
My life at it's end
God has seen this coming
And so have the demons.

My body goes limp
I am put in a box
The door closes
And I am lost

my soul leaves me
Looks at my motionless body
Touches the useless skin
Without remembering

the dirt crumbles through my spirit
as it drifts toward the skies
it stops and the pearly
gates of white

my name not on the list
god casted me aside
faith's not what gets you in
but what's in your mind.

now im falling toward
my future
the heat rises and my
eyes sink.

god forbade me into heaven
but now my spirit lies
with the devil, the place
i knew i would be

the devil takes me with
open arms and leads me to
his throne
then he sits down upon it

he takes me as his own
the devil treats me kindly
and I wonder if its an act
but he takes the ones god casts aside

and I think we have it wrong
the devil is the one who
laves all maybe this is the real heaven
and the others are waiting for god's permission into hell.
