Into The Darkness (Part 3 Of 5) 'silence' Poem by Rikki Giovani

Into The Darkness (Part 3 Of 5) 'silence'

The voices have faded
As I work alone in the solace of the night
The deep cold embraces me like death embraced the old world
The streets are deserted
The world we once knew is a disheveled mess
A building crashes in the distance
People are running and screaming but no sound escapes them
I continue walking down the street
Out of nowhere music starts to playing
Playing a song of sadness and regret
I walk towards the music
I stop in front of a half crumpled building
I can barely make out what the sign says
As I move towards the door, the music changes
It changes to one of anger and revenge
I feel like this place once held happiness
Even if it was just a fleeting thought
