Intrusive Thoughts Poem by North Star

Intrusive Thoughts

Tired eyes looking at
Clock hanging, striking 12
Not sure whether it's noon
Or midnight
Both are same now
As the minute hand rolled
Down and down
Like the tears i held
Broke loose like an
Overflowing dam
There's flood everywhere
As it drowned the walls
Around the heart that were
Built when the light
Was too bright
Blood and water mixed
It's coursing through
The veins like a stream
In Himalayas melting the snow
As the water rises it
Choked, screaming roads
Crying towers, dancing wires
Peaceful bodies lying
Around, it took them away
With the flow
But the clock is there
Ticking still and now it's
Past one
As i looked at it and smiled
It looked back
And i swear it
Smiled back.
