Ioana's Sonnet Poem by Rafael Herrera

Ioana's Sonnet

The words I give to you are not chosen
With any rational design.
They flow directly from my soul,
Unfiltered, uncensored.
Full of love, or pain, or anguish, or rejection
Or Loneliness.
I choose not to suppress them,
To give you undisguised access to my soul.
The danger of sharing these parts of me,
Becomes apparent when they are treated
As mere utterances
Built from words and desires.
If you know from where my words come,
Will you treat them as precious gifts?
