There once was a time if I closed my eyes,
I could see us together as one.
But now as time moves on,
Is that dream all done?

You were the one who knew me inside and out,
You always knew just what to say.
Any fears I had would disappear,
When you said it would all be okay.

There was always a special connection with us,
Which never will be completely gone.
Whatever we had will always be there,
It's just so damn hard to move on.

The times I'd drown with the look in your eyes,
You never noticed a thing.
There were nights I laid awake and thought,
Of the love our friendship could bring.

No matter how hard I've been trying,
It is so hard to see.
Is it possible to just let it go,
Of something that was meant to be.
