Is It Nostalgia? Poem by Carlos Mario

Is It Nostalgia?

The night will come and you will let me cry,
in all sincerity and transparency.
You will see a heart full of emotions,
a soul naked in the face of absence.

Words are the simplest thing,
without weight, without meaning...
But behavior says it all:
what you are, what you were,
what perhaps you will be.

You look at a heart that makes sense,
are they butterflies or bugs trapped
in the prison of conscience,
guarded by the guard of sadness.

The way out is obvious,
but this heart is indifferent to pain,
and the only thing left to do is to swallow it.

The memories are permanent,
the pain is inevitable.
This is what I am.

Let me cry once and twice,
so you'll know the battle I fight,
the one I'm losing.

Fear is inevitable,
because you've done nothing,
and you know it will all be over soon
