Is This Living? - Poem by Joseph Ivie

Living in a world without your hand to hold.
staring into my soul, trying to find that happy place.
tear me away from this broken home.
it looks like im lost..
I see people..these fake dull faces.
Where can i hide?
If i run, how far will i go before i lost you?
will you stand with me in this place.
Can i hold you in my arms, for what seems like the last time.
Lets stay here, till we know we have nothing more to fear.
Look into my eye before you fade away.
There is life here.
How many more invitations must take flight?
Before we find each other in this dark light.
How many tears do i have to cry, before you know who i am.
I am here heart like anyone.
pains me to say, but i need your embrace.
Before i shut down and die away..

That was really heartfelt. It seems that you are at bay to the whims of your heart. But I think that's how all people should live. Not letting anything get in the way of your heart's desire. Great poem. (Report) Reply
