Akmal, my dear
Is this you that I see
This little ruby
Sparkling with innocence
Is this you that I see
Close to Mama’s bosom

Night has come
Darkness has descended
To veil the face of day
Do not cry
But close your eyes
And drift into the land of dreams

Mama is by your side
Baba is by your side
Tending to your needs
Do not be afraid
For the moon watches
While angels guard over you

Soon, this veil will lift
And dawn will yawn
As it breaks gently
Into a gay morning
And your eyes open
To the four arms of love.
